From your first lesson you will immediately start playing songs. I only use music theory if it is really necessary or if you would like to delve into it. Hi bass guitar player! If you like the low notes, the rhythm, the groove the most: high five! Bass guitar still is my favourite instrument, although I also like singing and playing drums, and can get some sounds out of a keyboard or guitar. What moves me the most about playing music is being on stage with fellow musicians and experience how the music touches, inspires, arouses or moves our audience. It's an experience I wish other for other musicians, my students, you. An experience I hope to contribute to with my lessons. In the lessons your taste, preferences and level are starting point and goal. Depending on your wishes and (learning) questions I will compile the lessons with excercises for developing your technique, level, and skills like playing (together with a drummer and in a band). Developing a good technique, finding the right bass lines with your favourite tracks or coming up with your own bass lines are important topics in the lessons. In 2006 I graduated at the Utrecht Conservatoir, bass guitar Jazz & Pop, where I studied with Theo de Jong and also with Joel Groenewold and Harry Emmery. Previously I had studied with Sven Schuster, and in Brazil I studied with Thiago Espirito Santo. I have been teaching for twenty years, and performed with all kinds of bands in all kinds of styles on stages and in studios in The Netherlands, Belgium, Israel and Brazil.

The Bass guitar lessons are given at all levels from beginners to advanced / professionals. You learn how to play the instrument, with the right attitude and the right technical and theoretical underpinning of everything you want to learn.
