I teach art history to anyone who wants to, regardless of age or level, online or at my home in Velp. You can learn about, among other things, the visual arts, music and literature from prehistory to the present. You can work towards an exam/test/training or just learn out of interest. I am trained as a musician/writer and am a second-degree teacher. The aim of this class is to help people to study history. We will focus on the areas the students want to study. This class will be open to all levels of education. Classes will be between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on what the student feels comfortable with.

My name is Wael and I have been teaching architecture and general design classes for several years. I graduated from the University of Syria (Architecture) in 2015. I feel comfortable teaching college and university students as well as adults who want to enter the interior design profession. We go to exhibitions where I teach you to look and analyze how the artist made his work and what he was doing and, if applicable, what he wanted to convey with his work. The training in art appreciation is part of the lessons. What do you experience and recognize in the work of an artist and how does your interpretation fit into your cultural awareness. On request I will zoom in on specific artists. We will also visit an artist in his studio and exchange ideas with him. These lessons are designed to develop drawing and painting skills. Not only will you be able to practice drawing and painting techniques under my guidance, you will also learn to express yourself and your creativity by experimenting with different materials, colours and textures. Together we will choose the subject and desired outcome of each lesson, so that you can develop your own style with my support. The subjects of World History and Social Studies are often left aside as they are seen as less useful that the other subjects, but I believe children can learn a lot from observing and learning about what happened in the past and what happens today. I want to share my knowledge about these subjects with them while also helping them managing the knowledge they already have and need to learn. In schools, history is often taught through learning dates and events but history should be taught in the form of a story, which is easier to remember, and the useful information will stick longer. I am willing to help my students with the homework they have as well and teach them some skills in how to organize and manage the work they receive. I have teaching experience in international schools in Qatar, Italy and the US with students in middle school and high school, having taught the American curriculum and the International Baccalaureates curriculum.
