This class is a guide to help adults and children discover their creativity and imagination through flute lessons. My goal as a teacher is to help my students find their enthusiasm and joy in making music.

I have experience with all ages and levels individually but I am also working with groups of parents and children. I believe music making is a very effective activity to strengthened the bond between a child and his/her parents.
So feel free no matter what your age or level is to contact me and give it a go.

During my musical education I had the opportunity to study in different conservatories in Spain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland, awakening in me a passion for teaching the violin and viola and thus beginning to give private lessons and coaching youth orchestras.

In my lessons I help the student to feel enjoyment while playing, and feel happy with their instrument in order to connect with their musical imagination.
Considering the level and age, different methods and exercises will structure the lesson in order to get good aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body posture.

For everyone who wants to make the sounds of the flute sound to his or her hand! Since the age of nine I have been playing the flute, mainly classical. In 2015 I came into contact with the Brazilian music style 'chorinho', which I immediately fell in love with. This music style is extremely rich in melodies and rhythms, and in my experience is a good and fun addition to the classical repertoire, also for ensemble playing. I attended the Conservatory of Classical Composition with flute as main instrument, and I went to Brazil twice to improve my chorinho playing. I like to help young and old to make playing the flute one of the best activities, at both hobby level and professional level!

I am Julia, a professional musician originally from Montreal, Canada. I have lived in the Netherlands for 4 years and have a Master's degree in Music. I compose, engineer, and perform music. I believe a good technique is fundamental and can make you enjoy playing music more, and together with that comes development of a person's musicality, I can help you develop both a good technique and a your musicality so that you can achieve a nice musical expression.

To stay organized and cover all the essentials, I like to split the lesson in parts, depending on your skill level of course. In a lesson of one hour we can cover theoretical music skills, breath work, reed exercises, etudes and technical exercises and pieces. We can also play duos together!
Because I have a lot of experience making reeds, I can make and adjust your reeds to your maximal comfort.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals — whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced player looking to explore jazz, improvisation, or pop music. I focus on helping students build a solid foundation while keeping lessons fun and creative. You’ll learn technique, rhythm, and expression through real songs and improvisation, so you can enjoy playing music you love. The first lesson is a relaxed introduction — we’ll get to know your goals and musical taste, and I’ll design a personal plan for you.
