I have several years of experience tutoring students of different age groups in Latin and Ancient Greek. I am deeply passionate about these languages and I enjoy helping students improving at them. I believe that understanding the structure of a sentence is fundamental when approaching these languages, therefore this is an important focus for me. During the class I always dedicate some time to reasoning and translating sentences together with the student. I have a BS in pharmaceutical biotechnology and I am currently a master student in Medicine. I find biology very fascinating and I have been tutoring it for years now. Depending on the topic and the student's needs, I structure the lessons differently. I usually explain the topic and use tools such as spaced repetition, notes, conceptual maps to make sure that the student has understood.

Ik geef in de eerste plaats bijlessen oud-Grieks en Latijn aan leerlingen van het secundair onderwijs die voor deze vakken leerproblemen ondervinden. Dat doe ik door middel van bijkomende uitleg en eventueel extra oefeningen. Deze uitleg en oefeningen zijn steevast op maat van de individuele leerling en afgestemd op zijn of haar specifieke probleem. Bij de bijlessen werk ik accuraat en speel ik kort op de bal. Mijn lessen zijn interactief en gestructureerd. Ik graaf diep en spit de leerstof tot op de bodem uit tot ze volledig gevat en begrepen is. Daarnaast beschik ik over de kwaliteit om de leerstof op een voor leerlingen bevattelijke manier aan te brengen en bezit ik de gave om leerlingen te begeesteren, te motiveren, te passioneren en te enthousiasmeren. Daarbij schuw ik geen enkel middel. Ik heb tot slot een grote dosis empathie en dito gevoel voor humor. Daarnaast richt ik me tot liefhebbers van de Klassieke Oudheid in de brede zin. Op aanvraag richt ik cursussen Antieke Cultuur in, waarin ik bepaalde aspecten van de Grieks-Romeinse Oudheid uitdiep en toelicht. Ook geïnteresseerden van alle leeftijden die hun oud-Grieks en Latijn willen heropfrissen of onderhouden zijn bij mij aan het juiste adres: zij kunnen bij mij terecht voor grammaticalessen en/of de lectuur van een antieke auteur.
