In my lessons I will teach you Spanish. We adjust the lessons depending on your goal, level and pace. I teach in English, but my mother tongue is Spanish. I live in Brussels where I have taught many French courses to French speakers and also to non-French speakers in the framework of FLE (French as a Foreign Language), mostly face-to-face and also some distance learning. During the introductory meeting we will first discuss your wishes, what English is needed for, interests, and very importantly, your current level in order to draw up a lesson plan. And of course we also look at preferences regarding teaching style, because this can differ per student. After my studies as a Second Degree English teacher, I enjoyed teaching for a number of years. I was also co-owner of my own translation/text agency Dutch/English and English/Dutch. I continued my translation work from various English-speaking countries. I lived and worked in Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia, where I learned to speak English like the locals. During my long time abroad I followed various studies, including in the field of music, linguistics and animals (especially horses). After many years abroad, I returned to the Netherlands in 2017 and now enjoy teaching English (online). Because I have lived in various English-speaking countries for almost 30 years, my English is exceptionally good. I have learned a bit of culture from each country and of course also some local pronunciation, and when I cheerfully greet you with a G'day mate! then that might be the first Australian expression you hear. But of course you first learn 'proper English', so that everyone can understand you!

I like to use different methods to teach French to students. It can be through songs, drama, role play or videos. I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced. At the same time, I teach the grammar rules to the student. I now live in regions where French has been spoken for over 30 years. Because I have learned French myself (and I am still learning other languages), I can easily put myself in a student's shoes. I can teach in French, Dutch, English, German and Russian.

Hi, I'm Lucie and I would be happy to help you learn French, whether it's from scratch or to improve your knowledge. I love getting my students to speak since I think practice is the secret to learning a language and improving your knowledge. I always structure my lessons according to themes based on real life (how to introduce yourself, how to make an appointment, do the shopping, go to the doctor, French at work, etc.). We will see grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation together. If you are intermediate, we will also do courses on texts. We will put both grammar and vocabulary into practice.

I create a learning experience (content and pace) adapted to your needs: speaking fluently, DELF / DALF test preparation, or just to have conversations to help with travel or relocation. We can have our lessons in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying various aspects of learning a language. It's not just about memorizing complex conjugations! I work with a variety of online resources, all of which is shared with you after the lesson. For structure and to evaluate progress, I also work with certain books depending on the level and the requirement. Unless you wish to focus on specific skills, I try to include speaking, listening and reading during the session, while writing exercises are given as homework. Grammar points are handled as and when they come up.

I am offering English lessons to students of all ages and levels as part of school, exam preparation, or just out of interest in vocabulary, grammar, and/or pronunciation. My experience has been mostly with children individually or in group lessons learning English as a second language of ages between 7 and 17. My aim is to help students establish a goal and help them along the path of reaching that goal, with clear progress milestones. I speak English at native level but I can also teach in Dutch depending on your needs. I have an English-spoken Bachelor's Degree in Politics and Law, having received an A on my International Human Rights Law thesis, a 1560/1600 on my SAT and 5/5 in AP English Language. I am also happy to do exam-specific tutoring.
