With 25 years of experience, I have taught both primary and secondary education in private and public schools. During this time, I have worked with second-language English learners as well as students with learning disabilities. Additionally, I can provide assistance in helping your child improve their organizational skills. Please note that I offer tutoring exclusively in Amsterdam and not in the surrounding areas.

I specialise in English (British & American) tuition for native and non-native speakers of all ages, and have experience working with: • young children learning English for the first time • primary- and secondary-school students studying the English language and its literatures • adult professionals and seniors wishing to improve their language skills, or develop pronunciation or presentational skills I have two degrees in English language and literature (B.A. and Mst) from the University of Oxford, and I am also a graduate of the International Baccalaureate (I.B.) Diploma program. I've developed a creative approach in my sessions with students that involves applying a student's particular talents and interests (regardless of subject) in the process of language acquisition, along with the simultaneous development of critical skills like close and careful reading, argumentation, written style, and effective communication. I am versed in the requirements and intricacies of a range of national and international diploma programs. When working with students supplementing an academic syllabus, my goal is always to position them to succeed in the assignments and assessments laid out by a primary instructor.

I have been in the Netherlands for 4 years now and I am a certified professional providing guidance and treatment to children with diverse needs. I do not speak Dutch, I speak fluent English and Chinese. I am a gaduate from University College London woth a MSc in Psychology of Education. I was a special needs teacher in my home country teaching children age 5-12 with various disabilities such as AHDH /ASD /GDD etc. I have also worked with non-verbal children using Alternative and Augmentative Communication such as Proloquo2Go, PECS and AVAZ. Furthermore, I also taught tuition for the language of English, Mathematics,Mandarin and Science for students up to age 15. English-My native language is English, My degree and masters course were in English from the UK. Chinese - I had studied in a Chinese school for 10 years, I took IGCSE chinese as foreign language and EDEXCEL A Level Chinese language Bahasa Melayu - I took IGCSE Bahasa Melayu

I immerse myself in the material that a student has difficulty with, in this case a language and/or a math problem. It is true that I am currently guiding a girl from secondary education with beginners French and German. But the majority of my tutoring children come from groups 6, 7 and 8 of primary school.

English is filled with nuances and I can help decode this anywhere from basic English to improving vocabulary and conversational skills with a Native Londoner. I am specialized in tutoring English to Dutch children who go to school. I help them with their difficulties and with their homework. I can also help adults with their English as long as they have their own material that we can follow. I would be happy to help anyone.

I got an average score of 7.5 on my IELTS test with English as my third language. Highest score on IELTS is a 9, I got a 8.5 on my speaking test. My first and second language are Dutch and Turkish.

I specialize in teaching Math. From my childhood this has been my favorite subject. I have 2+ years of tutoring experience. My goal is the following 1) to help my student think there are more ways to solve the same problem. 2) to help them provide problem solving mindset. 3)after my class give them assignments/homework. 4)measure their progress on regular basis and help them where they lack expertise. 5) prepare the topic of the day in advance , so we can use the time effectively. 6) to help students to like this subject and build logical approach towards the subject . If you already know the language, but you cannot pronounce it very well and you want others to understand you, I can teach you the correct accent of that language. It may seem difficult to you at first, but we will practice together via the webcam and you will see that with my help it will only become easier for you. You will pronounce the language well. Practice makes perfect.

Prepare yourself thoroughly for the International English Language Testing System to obtain the English language proficiency required for higher education and global migration. There are 2 levels; Academic and General. Each level has 4 sections: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. You will learn and practice them all.

Both teacher and student want results, and practice proves that individual attention and a personalized lesson plan work best. During the introductory meeting we will first discuss your wishes, what English is needed for, interests, and very importantly, your current level in order to draw up a lesson plan. And of course we also look at preferences regarding teaching style, because this can differ per student. After my studies as a Second Degree English teacher, I enjoyed teaching for a number of years. I was also co-owner of my own translation/text agency Dutch/English and English/Dutch. I continued my translation work from various English-speaking countries. I lived and worked in Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia, where I learned to speak English like the locals. During my long time abroad I followed various studies, including in the field of music, linguistics and animals (especially horses). After many years abroad, I returned to the Netherlands in 2017 and now enjoy teaching English (online). Because I have lived in various English-speaking countries for almost 30 years, my English is exceptionally good. I have learned a bit of culture from each country and of course also some local pronunciation, and when I cheerfully greet you with a G'day mate! then that might be the first Australian expression you hear. But of course you first learn 'proper English', so that everyone can understand you!

Hello, my name is Lucie and I would be delighted to help you learn English, either from scratch or to improve your knowledge. I love getting my students to speak since I think practice is the secret to learning a language and improving your knowledge. I always structure my classes around real-life themes (how to introduce yourself, how to make an appointment, how to shop, how to go to the doctor, talk at work, etc). We will see grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation together. If you are intermediate, we will also do courses on texts. We will put both grammar and vocabulary into practice. Please note that all my classes are online (Skype or Google Meet).

I am offering English lessons to students of all ages and levels as part of school, exam preparation, or just out of interest in vocabulary, grammar, and/or pronunciation. My experience has been mostly with children individually or in group lessons learning English as a second language of ages between 7 and 17. My aim is to help students establish a goal and help them along the path of reaching that goal, with clear progress milestones. I speak English at native level but I can also teach in Dutch depending on your needs. I have an English-spoken Bachelor's Degree in Politics and Law, having received an A on my International Human Rights Law thesis, a 1560/1600 on my SAT and 5/5 in AP English Language. I am also happy to do exam-specific tutoring.
